Fellow Photographers

Karl is a fellow photographer from Birmingham who I have met through TipTop Photography. Karl has his own site and blog and has recently featured me on his site.

Karl talks about his photography and shares his Bio:

I`m a photographer based in the wonderful city of Birmingham ( tongue slightly in cheek ).
I have a day job which pays the bills, two daughters who empty my pockets and a Passion which feeds the soul.
My photography has taken many twists and turns and currently I am focusing on Portraits, I have a love for Landscape and Abstract and hope in the future to be able to pursue these forms fully.

QUESTION 1 : Why is Photography important to you ?

The need to to be creative is an overwhelming urge for me and one that has to be sated and over the last few years this urge has been fueled by photography. Digital cameras and editing software have meant that my ability to re-produce my `minds eye` image has been greatly improved.

QUESTION 2 : What do you find most challenging about your photography "
what's your motivation" ?

The `Challenge` is to get the image I want , though the use of light, camera technique, interaction with subject or with software. This can be very frustrating and it is the thing that drives me forward to improve and keep learning in all areas.... sometimes the `frustration` wins but thankfully I`m not at the `ear cutting off `stage yet.
The `Motivation` is simple....... satisfaction .

QUESTION 3 : Name another professional or amateur photographer , who you
think we should checkout ?

Joe McNally ... Probably the best in his field and a great communicator and teacher :

Zack Arias ... I love the guys attitude and once again a great teacher :

Many Thanks Karl
